Say hello to Tyler & Courtney, their two pups Charlie and Layla, and soon-to-be baby Logan! Like many expectant mothers, Courtney wanted a photo session to document this special time in her family’s story. Instead of a traditional maternity session though, she opted to do a cute lil family session with their two dogs. To make this session even more special, Tyler & Courtney are actually cousins of mine, so of course I was so excited for this shoot!
We met up at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, and got to shooting right away. Wrangling two dogs is never an easy job, but we had so much fun with it! With the help of squeaky tennis balls and as many ridiculous sounds I could come up with, we managed to get a lot of great shots with everyone looking at the camera, and of course several fun ones of everyone goofing around.
Halfway through the session some of their friends came to pick up the doggos, and it was time for just some more intimate shots of just Tyler and Courtney. This was right at sunset, so we caught some beautiful light filtering in through the trees over the lake. Nothing makes me more inspired during a shoot than catching incredible light and capturing my clients being their true comfortable selves.
