Landscape Reverie
This series of images was for my Contemporary Landscape class.
This series of images was for my Contemporary Landscape class. The book that we are reading divides contemporary landscape into different categories, one of them being reverie. Reverie can be defined as a state of abstracted musing or a daydream, inspiring contemplation and reflection. Reverie can also express a sense of abandon, and it can comment on the act of avoiding the subject of an increasingly despoiled environment by turning inward instead. I pulled from these ideas and incorporated them into my images, along with the idea that the landscape can make you feel really small and insignificant, and it can make you aware that there’s so much more out there in the world and in life.
